Handmade ceramics from rural Scotland

I live and work from a small studio in rural Angus, Scotland.

After a lifelong connection to pottery, and further study at Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen, I launched my own studio in early 2020.

The natural beauty of Angus with its open views is central to my practice and has shaped a calm, contemplative approach to making that is embedded in nature.

Working mainly in stoneware, I design and make wheel thrown pieces, where form is as important as the glaze, and the quiet style of each piece can show through. My recent work has focused on developing a wood ash glaze, using material gathered from the forest outside my studio, letting the landscape gently imprint itself onto each piece

Using muted tones and calm whites, my designs are minimal and restrained. Objects made for everyday life, grounded in the place from which they are created.
